Discussion: Resource Management & Equity
ENV 761 - Landscape GIS | Spring 2025 | Instructors: Peter Cada & John Fay
Central Theme
- We’ve explored the land- and hydro-scape from an almost exclusively biophysical perspective.
- Much work focused on computing attributes on which to base prioritization of protecting/conserving land and water resources.
- This week is focused on putting all that together into a structured landscape plan.
- What glaring issue have we overlooked – PEOPLE
Discussion topics
-

-
Do any of the analyses we did in class have an implicit bias against certain groups of people?
-
Do all people value nature equally? Might systemic bias factor into how some people interact with nature?
